- Solution tank drains but no vapor enters the duct run. The check valve between tank and pump fails open, dumping liquid into the plenum instead of aerosolizing it. In Cumming’s summer humidity, that standing solution becomes a mold vector within 72 hours.

What you can safely check: confirm the unit is receiving power at the dedicated outlet, verify the solution tank is seated fully on its base (a half-turn off kills the suction tube), and inspect the exterior of the solution line for kinks or obvious leaks. What goes wrong with DIY: the fogger head torque spec is 12-14 ft-lb, and over-tightening cracks the ceramic orifice every time. The check valve direction matters, reverse it and the pump cavitates.
